Different Types of Filling Pumps for Filling Machines

Rotor Pump

The cam rotor pump relies on two synchronously counter-rotating rotors to generate suction (vacuum) at the inlet during the rotation, thereby sucking in the material to be conveyed. The two rotors divide the rotor chamber into several small spaces, and they will operate in the order of ABCD; when it runs to position A, only chamber I is filled with filling materials; when it reaches position B, part of the filling materials is enclosed in chamber B. When the rotor moves to position C, part of the filling material is also enclosed in chamber A; when it reaches position D, chamber A and B are connected to chamber II, and the filling material is transported to the discharge port.

Working Principle of Rotor Pump

Application

This type of three-lobe rotor is suitable for filling material that is prone to foaming, high viscosity concentration and with soft particles in the conveying process. The rotor is a most used rotor.

The advantage of the rubber single-rotor pump is that this type of pump is suitable for high viscosity paste materials with soft or hard particles, and is widely used in food, daily chemical and other industries.

Ceramic Plunger Pump

Working Principle

When the flow passage of the plunger faces the suction port of the pump cavity, as the plunger rotates, the volume of the pump cavity gradually increases to form a partial vacuum, the liquid is sucked in, and the plunger continues to rotate and retreat. When the flow passage of the plunger is staggered from the suction port of the pump cavity, the suction process is completed and the plunger changes to rotate forward. As the plunger rotates forward, when the flow path of the plunger approaches the discharge side of the pump cavity, the volume of the pump cavity gradually decreases, and the liquid is compressed and discharged. When the flow path of the plunger is staggered from the discharge port of the pump cavity, the discharge process is completed. The plunger pump transforms into rotating backwards and starts the next suction process.

Application

Ceramic pumps are usually made of materials with extremely high hardness, high melting point, wear resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance (such as alumina and zirconia). These materials can usually be manufactured to tight tolerances and clearances of 2 to 5 microns. The tight clearances enable virtually leak-free pumps with no external seals. Ceramic pump is an important part of experimental equipment, analyzing equipment, and pharmaceutical equipment for the rationing of materials of successive transportation. It is widely used in precision quantitative filling(includes all kinds of acid and alkali corrosive liquid) in the pharmaceutical, pharmaceutical, food, chemical, cosmetic and other industries.

Gear Pump

Working Principle

As the gears rotate they separate on the intake side of the pump, creating a void and suction which is filled by fluid. The fluid is carried by the gears to the discharge side of the pump, where the meshing of the gears displaces the fluid.

Application

It is suitable for weak acid and alkaline liquids with a PH value of 5-8, such as edible oil, cosmetics (toner, makeup remover, spray), food (withstands 95 degrees of high temperature, such as milk, soy milk), beverages, Condiment, high foam liquid. It cannot be used for filling of highly corrosive liquids, solvents, essential oils, etc.

Piston Pump

Working Principle

The piston pump drives the piston in the corresponding cylinder to reciprocate through the up and down movement of the cylinder, so that negative pressure is generated in the front cavity of the cylinder, and the stroke of the cylinder is controlled by the signal valve. It adjusts the filling volume to achieve precise filling effect. (Refer to the schematic diagram for appearance).

Application

This type of pump is suitable for filling large-volume and high-viscosity products, such as shampoo, shower gel, and engine oil. Enlarging the rotary valve of the piston pump can be applied to viscous liquids with particles.

Diaphragm Pump

Working Principle

The diaphragm pump changes the volume of the working chamber by agitating the diaphragm back and forth to suck and discharge liquid. This type of pump has excellent sealing performance, does not contain oil inside, and will not pollute the filling material. The pump cavity is separated from the motor, and the liquid will not penetrate into the motor when used for a long time and cause machine failure, which prolongs the service life of the pump.

Application

It is a little noisy during operation. And when the diaphragm pull or push, the liquid will be stirred.so it is suitable suitable for medium and low viscosity liquids that are not corrosive and do not contain solid particles, such as soybean milk, edible oil, food, cosmetics, etc.

Magnetic Pump

Working Principle

The magnetic couplings of magnetic pump consist of two magnets, a drive magnet that attaches to the motor shaft and a driven magnet that is completely sealed within the pumphead and is connected to the driving gear. The driven magnet is a wetted component and is totally encapsulated. The two magnets couple automatically such that the drive magnet turns the driven magnet and gears without physical contact. In this way,the liquid will be pumped.

Application

The magnetic pump made of 316 stainless steel is resistant to various weakly corrosive, low-viscosity, particle-free liquids, such as various pharmaceuticals (eye drops), chemicals (solvents, acetone), oils (edible oil, essential oil), cosmetics (skin toner, make-up remover), food (can be used to fill 100 degree high temperature liquid, such as milk, soy milk), beverages, condiments. Foamy liquid such as care liquids, detergents are also applicable . This type of pump has high filling accuracy and is suitable for laboratory use.

Peristaltic Pump

Working Principle

The working principle of a peristaltic pump is just like squeezing a hose which is full of fluid with your fingers, the fluid in the tube moves forward as the fingers move forward, but the roller replaces the fingers in the peristaltic pump. The fluid is pumped by alternately squeezing and releasing the elastic delivery hose of the pump.

Application

The biggest advantage of this type of pump is that the filling machine does not contact with the filling material during filling. It is especially suitable for biological preparations, eye care liquids, oral liquids, essential oils, solvents, etc. It is also suitable for liquid packaging with a variety of fragrances and colors, such as e-liquid, perfume, nail polish, paint, ink). This type of pump can also be used for the filling of granular liquid (like juice), yogurt, culture medium, and high-temperature liquid. This type of pump is widely used in daily chemical, food, edible oil, beverage, pesticide, and pharmaceutical industries.
